So I know my 20d is broken in some form. I was touring over seas and it was working perfect. Come home about 2 weeks ago and the camera as sat since then. Picked it up today to go shot some family friends at the park to find the neither LCD disply working. Not the top one or the one in the view finder. The camera works fine and after playing with it for a while the LCDs will goast a bit and even sometimes look normal. But as soon as you turn a wheel it will go back it is invisable or goasting way. I tried upgrading the firmware and that didn't help. Any ideas? I'd say a connector came loose inside while travling but with the problem intermiten that doesn't seem to make sense. Thanks guys!

Tried with a fresh battery, both the BP-511 and the button cell?

Send it back to canon - call them and ask and explain to them whats happened, or you could googelize "how to take apart a 20D", there are a few sites... but unless you know what youre doing i'de call canon

Follow Jon's advice and try everything with a fresh battery including the date/time button cell, but when you change the batteries out, leave them out for a few minutes and let the camera revert to the default settings. That may straighten things out for you.

Ok so I just grabed it to reset as you guys suggested and it works fine! Switched back to the lens I used in the park and still works. Thanks for fixing it magically! I guess my camera just didn't want to go to the park today.

If I wasn't raking leaves today I would have liked to go to the park :)
