I'm shopping for a good digital camera for my husband to take along on a deployment. I would like to keep the price under $150 and it needs to be easy to operate yet take great pictures that he can send back to me. Does anyone have any recommendations. I had been looking at the powershot A530 but I have no idea if it is any good.
Thanks

They used to have A620 for about $180. You should snoop around on slickdeals.net

You can still find A620's around and from what I hear, the newer A630 and A640 and excellent cameras.

Check the Canon A700 and especially the new A710, which adds image stabilization. Terrific picture quality, big LCD screen, and a 35-210 zoom lens. And a lot lighter than my Canon 20D SLR! It actually produces shots with as much resolution as some allegedly higher megapixel cameras.
