Still looking through my 400+ pictures from last week's air show at Ellington Field (Houston, TX). However, these are some of my better shots of the USAF Thunderbirds in their F-16s. I hope you like them. The lighting conditions were less than ideal. It rained all day (and the day before) and there was dark cloud cover with brief moments of sunlight.

Good shots, always the problem getting the skies to cooperate with us photographers and airshow performers

Nice shots. I feel your pain with the lighting. I shot the Miramar air show a few weeks ago and had the same problem; it rained and was overcast that day so getting the nice blue and gold of the blue angels was tough.
Side note: great shot on the high speed pass, those are tough to get!

Nice shots, especially the opposing pass
I appreciate your comments! The opposing shot was really hard to catch. My 20D does 5 fps for 6 frames in RAW. I shot the full buffer. This one shot is the only frame that shows both frames. No other frame has even a piece of the second plane. My 14 year-old son figures the planes had a rate of closure around 700 - 800 mph. So, I was very lucky to get this capture. It will be matted, framed and hung on my wall at work very soon.
