I know this may seem a little out of topic for this forum but it does involve my photos so...
I was hoping there might be somebody that knew how to have a web page open with a flash animation? I've read about applying a flash animation to a page but can't seem to find how to incorporate one as an opening intro.
I don't expect a whole tutorial posted. We can figure that out later.
BTW, I'm using NetObjects Fusion 7.
Pm me or provide a link or whatever.

I don't know squat about flash, but I do know web servers.
My guess is that the web server would have to be configured to recognize the flash extension as auto-loadable. With Apache this is done:
<IfModule mod_dir.c>
DirectoryIndex index.html index.htm index.shtml index.php index.php4 index.php3 index.phtml index.cgi
</IfModule>
So I would add "index.flash" to that list and make sure that no file called "index.html/etc" was in the root directory.
But Flash intros suck. Not only will they screw up search engines like Google, they are absolutely unbearable as an intro IMHO. Having a Flash intro is one of the best ways to annoy potential visitors. Again, IMHO but also after many years of web design and running web servers and consulting on web sites.

Thanks for the tip Scottes. Maybe I'll stick to what I have and just have a flash animation on the page. I certainly don't want to discourage people from entering my site when it's finished.

Just add some key spots of flash. Not that my page is all that big of a deal but here is what I did:

I use a very cool program called Swish. Simple and very effective.

Thanks Wade. I think I'm going to scrap the idea. If I do add a flash animation it will just be on the page and not as an intro. I have since found a site that you can build a flash intro for your site and load it but like I said, naaa.

Good idea to can the flash intro.
I like speed of access to the information above long useless delays.
For me, easy access (speedy, sensable), easy navigation (things don't change from page to page), and easy to read (no blue text on black backgrounds) are far more important than animations, blinking letters, or other 'distractions.'
Unless I really need to get into a site, a site that makes me wait needlessly will often cause me to quit out. Sometimes I want to be amused with that stuff, but rarely.
