NEW IN TOWN: How to get startet?

Hi, as a newbie to this I have an installation problem:
Having downloaded and unzipped the ee, "connect.php" edited with the relevant information saved. After that all files were uploaded to my server and the chmod changes were done to the relevant directories.

Now I have tried to start ".../gallery/install.php" but nothing happens! The error message which appears says "page could not be found".

What should I do next? Thank you in advance for your help.

The solution? Read these instructions (http://www.photography-on-the.net/ee/beta/setup_upload_system.php) carefully. In fact I needed to print these pages and read line by line marking off each step as I completed it. There are a number of steps that need to all be done correctly or the thing fails.

I tried to wing it at first and not read the details as is my usual habit. Wasted a lot of time. Do yourself a big favor fire up your printer and follow Pekka's intructions to the letter. It will work!

First you need to follow these instructions (http://www.photography-on-the.net/ee/beta/index.php?install=1) exactly. I had to redo these steps several times before I was able to get everything to work properly but eventually you will get it to work. Good luck
