Here are some pictures from a recent shoot in the South Australian mid north. They are of one of the early settlers ruins which dot the area. God knows how they got by with horses and carts as it is a very dry hot place in summer. This first one shows the town of Port Pirie on the horizon (or at least the power station chimney). Please enjoy.

It seems that for settlers they had enough money to build such place,i would think of settlers as poor people.

Yeah! That's what I thought when I saw the place. I guess not all of them were ditch diggers. Check out their back yard.

I like the second one. Composed well and the light at that time of the day sets it a glow. Really well done.

Thanks Karen, glad you liked them. This is mid spring, the day time temps in peak summer get to about 45C here. I presume Tn is for Tennessee?

Now I'm no expert on Australian settlers but I really don't think money had much of anything to do with building these structures. Rather the owners built them using materials that they gather locally. So not much money involved but a hell of alot of hard work.

Yes, I'm in Tennessee. We kinda have similar changes in scenery around the country that you have.
