A couple from last night. Terrible lighting, so these are a little dull. Still, give me your opinions...
Thanks!

They look sharp. Nice pics!
Can you share which lens, any PP, ISO you used? I am seriosly considering selling off some film gear to pay for a 70-200 2.8L after reading that "which lens for hockey" thread, but if those are from your Sigma, I may want to consider that route too...

Alan - good timing, nice action, and you got an excellent angle on the net (hard to do from the penalty box) but they do have that "thru the glass" look. At my local rink the glass is horrible.

Focus - These were shot with the Sigma at 1/750 and 800 ISO with + 1/3 exposure compensation. I should have backed off on the compensation and shot at 1600 ISO, but that's hindsite. Trust me, you won't be sorry if you get the Sigma.
David - Our glass is pretty crappy, I just happen to find a clear spot for these. BTW, I was outside the rink for these. Not in the sin bin.

Thanks. Keeping my eye on a few of each (Canon and Sigma) on EBay right now...
The glass at our rink is pretty bad as well. Fortunately they do clean the puck marks off once in a while! You guys that can get in the penalty boxes are lucky. They are strict about it here, and besides, at our rink the boxes glassed in anyway. The only open areas are the player bench areas.
