Took this during my early morning walk on the beach today. I think it is a Sparrow Hawk (American Kestrel). C&C welcome.

A good one. However, I too would prefer some colour adjustment. Perhaps you could lighten it a bit?

Not sure what it is, as your Kestrel and Sparrow Hawk are different to ours, ie we have a Kestrel AND a Sparrow Hawk both definitely seperate birds :) but it looks like a Falcon of some description, the head markings are a dead give away.

I would agree if I saw it over here, I'm not sure if you have any other similar looking falcons over there however. It definitely isn't an American kestrel.

We have the occasional Pergrine Falcon on the Central California Coast. Thanks for your comments.
