Hi all,
I was looking at "wide angle" lenses and was wondering which lense I should get.
I've been looking at Sigma 20-40 f/2.8, Sigma 17-35mm, Sigma 15-30 and the Canon 17-40 L lenses. At this point, I'm not entirely sure which direction to go.
What are the distinct advantages of getting a Sigma lens over a Canon lens?
Also, the lure of a fixed aperture for the Sigma 20-40 f/2.8 lens is highly appealing for natural light photos. Since the Sigma 20-40 and the Canon 17-40 L are roughly the same price (at least on the B&H site), other than focal length, what will be the advantage of one lens over the other?
I keep hearing that non-Canon lenses are not as sharp as Canon lenses... will there be a significant difference between the two lenses I mentioned above with regards to sharpness?
Thanks,
Victor
