This started out as a snapshot with my 50mm F/1.8 which explains the bad framing. But once I relized that the shot could have been better had it been framed differrantly, I tried my best to save it. Still good?

Here is another. Tried something new with the cropping. Not sure if I like it.

Also, these were shot at 400 or 800 ISO because I was going handheld and it was kinda dark. Are there anyway ways to sharpen with out increasing the prexisting grain from the high ISO?

I like the first one better for some reason. Nice looking dog :)

Hmm. There are really good elements in both of these pictures. I think the best crop would be a combination of the two: get the complete ear into #1, or get a bit more of his neck/chest into #2 and crop it closer behind the ear. I much prefer the dog's expression in #1, but the bright patch in the background is very distracting. #2 has a better background, but the dog looks a bit downbeat and that detracts from the picture.
