I know her dress is kindof blown out in the sepia... I guess I could use the history brush to fix it :)

I don't mind the colour one but I quite like the sepia one - it's hard to tell if much detail has been lost due to the soft effect but if it's not that much then I think it would look quite good large if you brought a little bit of definition back into her dress :)

thanks for the comments... I actually don't know if I can use the history brush because then the dress wouldn't be sepia toned :(

Your thread title says midnight sepia, the image is normal sepia. I had a play, midnight sepia at 75% opacity layer over the color (copy and paste), layer mask to let the skin, dress, and flowers come thru from the color version. Just an idea.

I like Islandphoto's more...
Tim the effect in her photo was probably gotten by converting to normal sepia and then applying midnight sepia, I also do it like that sometimes.

OOH.. I like it.. Here's my version... Midnight Black action with a color balance layer and a gaussian blur layer where I erased the couple back in so they would be sharp but everything else is diffussed..... Also played a bit with curves and levels...
I reduced the opacity on the midnight black layer a bit so that some of the original color would show through. :) It might be a little dark for your liking, but I think it makes it a little more dramatic... I like the very warm, almost chocolate tones in this version. :)

What I did was desaturate and then apply midnight sepia... thanks for the comments. I really, really like the last one but all of those details lost me. I'll have to play around with it :)

I used to use midnight sepia but I was notice there was always a green undertone in the final image... So now I use midnight black and add a color balance layer to get the warm tones... You can download midnight black at www.atncentral.com... similar action just a wee bit different. The nice thing is that everything is on it's own layer so you can make many adustments.
Lovely image by the way... :)

Straight colour with a little more vignette ... Midnight Sepia is getting SO old.

OOOH! I really like Kristy's version, but it wouldn't be as good without first a great image!

I guess I'm in the minority. I like the color version better. the greens are so beautiful it's a shame to change them.
