Great shots Todd and welcome to the forum. I can't wait for Spring/Summer to arrive so I can hopefully get some Puffin shots to match yours :)

You might want to update your profile so we can see where you're from.

Always a stunning looking bird that I never tire of seeing images of. Infact I'd love to see them more often, they are just so attractive. You've done a fine job of capturing them here too, simply beautiful.

They are neat birds. The are pretty comical in look and behaviour. When I saw them they unfourtanetly werent stocking fish in there mouths for there young, but were grabbing bunches of grass to make there nests in old rabbit holes.

There are about the same size as a football :) probably a little smaller. They are smaller then a typical duck/mallard

Thanks. From only seeing them on TV nature shows and stills like these, I had thought they were bigger, like small goose sized. :)

Looks like you were able to get close to the Puffins. Lovely shots. Are they easy to approach? I have seen this bird from as close as 1 to 2 feet away but that's from inside a bird blind so they can't see me.

I though I reconized your site name! I have it bookmarked :)

They are timid birds but if they get used to you you can get as close as maybe 10 feet. Kinda like ducks they are timid at first then they get more approachable. Maybe when there in groups and feel more comfortable.

Thanks for the compliments guys

Todd
