dose any one know if this charges your batteries on a timmer or wether it checks to see when they are full?

cos i have used it for a little while then put it on the charger, as they need to b charged all the way for l8r, and it seems to be taking a long while.

I got an Ixus 300, but I guess the charger must be about the same.
Normally the battery stops charging when it's full.
Try this : When you have the battery fully charged, take half a dozen pictures, then charge it again.
If it stops charging after about 5 or 10 minutes, it checks whether the batteries are full (more likely), if it stops after two (?) hours, then it's got a timer (unlikely).
I guess all Canon chargers test if the battery is full, else they would be crap...

It takes about 2 hours to charge completely a battery. I guess it checks it too, because when the battery is ready the charger's light goes green.

Yes, it does charge faster if each time you take a few pictures you charge the battery straight afterwards.

Also, it's a pity that the camera does not have a constant battery status display icon as cell phones do, but a blinking icon appears only when the battery needs to be changed.
