This is Rod's Candy Apple Red & ghost flamed '64 Buick Rivera. I should have shot it about 15 minutes earlier to get a bit better light for the paint, but with ghost flames, you really need to reposition it for each shot.
It has a '90 'Vette L98 engine, auto trans, 3.07 rear end, & air ride suspension.
The top is chopped 2". Building started in 1999 & finished in 2001.
If I remember correctly, it's an "100 Point car" & he puts on about 2,000 miles a year.

Nice looking car, great color, engine compartment looks good, disappointed with the engine, expected a little more polished aluminum.

Great looking car Frank, LOVE the interior shot showing how roomy those old Rivs were. ;) disappointed with the engine, expected a little more polished aluminum. My biggest disappointment here was seeing the Chevy engine in there. Not that I dislike Chevies, but I'd much rather see the old Buick Wildcat engine in there cleaned up and accessorized. :p

Most domestics have chevy or mopar motors lol no one likes to use Ford motors unless its all original.
Frank: that is one of the cleanest slickest looking cars you've ever posted ( i think anyways), great job man i cant believe how clean the engine bay is

disappointed with the engine, expected a little more polished aluminum. Call it "understated elegance"? I'd much rather see the old Buick Wildcat engine in there True, there's something to be said for 360bhp 425 coupled to a 4.45 rear end. Which is what makes these meets so interesting. Everyone has a slightly different idea of what is the perfect car for them? (I think Rod has one for every day of the week, depending on his mood at the time.) :D that is one of the cleanest slickest looking cars... Since you like "clean & RED", here's another:
'67 Chevy II Nova 430 (http://photography-on-the.net/forum/showthread.php?t=191265)
Thanks for the comments everyone! I'm sure that Rod will be happy to see them. He's the GoTo guy here for appraisals.

As always, great shots Frank. The lowered top line makes a huge improvement in the optics of the car.

that is just excellent
perfect colours together and the setting for the car is lovely
who'd believe it
(!)
by the way, I mentioned I loved the colour and as I usually don't like red cars (and have probably said so ) you may have wondered a little but I thought this car looked more metallic red especially in the first shot
and metallic red is different to the red which I don't like Frank
:rolleyes::):rolleyes:

Marie, if I see a possible background, or just a nice sky, I save it to a "Background" file so I can use it for something like that. You never know when it will come in handy! ;)

thanks Frank
very good
but I feel now that any 'real' (as I thought) picture that I look at and admire... could have a 'set up' background

maybe it's just my laptop monitor but it looks like he sweetened up the exterior but ignored the interior (ie stock).

looks like he sweetened up the exterior but ignored the interior (ie stock). Stock is what helps make it "If I remember correctly, it's an "100 Point car"
Thanks for the comments everyone!

So that's what 100 point means? Never even heard the expression before...

"100 points" is the maximum that you can get from the judges at the competitions. You & I would never be able to tell the difference between that & a 98 point car!
