Well this is my first post and i'm glad to be a part of the boards. I am interested in expanding on my S2 and i want to look into getting a new lens.
Most of my pictures involve moving objects (cars,animals,people...) but that doesn't mean i dont take a lot of stills. I just wanted to mention that im in charge of photography for a local car club so im usually hanging out the window on the highway.
Are the lenses going to be "plug and play" or do i need to buy something first in which the lenses will then mount?
What are my options as far as effects?
most importantly.....Where to buy?!
Thanks!

you can't really get "lenses" you can get filters and add-ons such as wide-angle or fish-eye (i've heard most of these actualy degrage photo quality more than anything), but you first have to get the piece that goes on the end of your lens that makes it I think a 52mm adapter, they're fairly cheap on ebay, i have one for my S3 IS so I can use a lens hood

Start here (http://www.lensmateonline.com)
Recommended source for the adaptor and information; many choose to purchase 3rd-party WA and teleconverters from there as well, but you have other sources for those too.

you can get 52mm and 58mm Adaptor tubes for the S2, i bought one with a UV filter and hood for £12
then you can use any screw filters etc, i'd recoment a polariszing filter as that will minimise reflection on shiny surfaces, and makes some colours nicer, like makeing the blue sky bluer.
you can get telephoto lenses than turn the 12x optical zoom in to a 24x, or 48x depending on what magnification you go for, these start at about £50 for cheap ones
Wide angle as well again £50 for cheap ones
and fish eyes from £50 for cheap ones
you can also get Macro lenses/filters to suite as well.
ive not yet used anything other than a polarizing filter so im not too sure if the quality is sacrificed with using the lenses
