Photos from: Country X doesn't always show

I've noticed that in the exhibition listings on index pages, some exhibitions have additional descriptive data below them that say, e.g.
Photos from: Iceland and United States
Other exhibitions do not have this information. Yet as far as I know, every photo on my server has country information. So what controls whether an exhibition has this extra descriptive line or not when viewed in index.php?
