How is it possible to edit (or add new) the resize methods for Thumbs and Microthumbs?

Selecting the menu option for Resize Methods lists the 'Big Sizes' where there is an option to 'Add new resizemethod'. However, using the dropdown for 'Thumbs and Microthumbs' only has 'Update All'. The title/name of each resize method is not editable.

Cheers

Hi Mike,

You are correct, the name/title of the resize method is not editable but if you alter the size values the title will update automatically. I believe, unless I am corrected, that you can only specify one thumb size and one microthumb size.

Hope this helps,

you can have several thumbs and microthumbs defined but i don't believe that any can be the same sizes...

Thanks for the replies, I edited the sizes and after update the title has changed.

Incidentally, it is possible to have two methods with exactly the same sizes - I currently have two GD thumb (and microthumb) rows with the same sizes, the only difference being that one has a watermark and one doesn't.

Cheers

interesting... i was going to be attempting that later on today since i've been playing around with the watermark stuff... how can you tell the difference? does the name reflect that ones has watermarking turned on?

No, the names are identical. This means that in the path editor you get two identical values in the drop-down, and have to guess based on ordering! :(

I think it's possible to have different sharpening parameters as well. It sounds like the thumbs and microthumbs resize method editor should work more similarly to the 'big' sizes editor because of this...

agreed, mike... i saw the same effect as i was working thru it... this is a really big project that pekka has been working on... i'm overjoyed at what he has accomplished in the time that he has had to work on it... what with life and work to contend with ;)

i wonder, sometimes, how hard it would be for it to maybe be placed on sourceforge with its CVS and that way appointed coders can work on stuff and submit it for merging with the main code branch... it is also good for coders to assist other coders working on the project and clean up some coding as well as optimizing when it can be done...
