Ok so the Point of this is to post the Motorsporting Event you would most want to shoot and to give new people ideas they wouldn't have thought of before. Such as the Indy 500, street rallys etc.

I am hoping this and the others I soon make will be made Stickys.

F1 at Monaco.

My main dream was Le Mans, but I've done that now...twice so Monaco would be my pie in the sky.

Right on brotha.

Id love to shoot F1 at Suzuka, but thats all done for now. Maybe Fuji would be sweet though. There or Imola. So many memories at Imola, some good and some very bad.

Ahhh, the Ring. I forgot about that! The hardest part would be finding a location youre content with!

Reno air race from either a modified P-51 or Hawker sea fury so that it has a back seat. Let the pilot fly from the back seat and I would be snapping away in the front. Lenses might be a problem though. I have heard that you can hit +6 Gs in those tight corners so that big heavy L-glass gets a whole lot heavier.:)

How about from inside the car? :D I've done the old long circuit during a normal day. But to do it at speed with other cars on the track would be cool.

Have Fun,

You would need something open, with a near 360 deg view.
How about one of those 2 seater F1 cars? With the back seat modified so you can swivel it around like a turret, and the whole thing would need to be gyro stabilized. :D

However, just sitting on the inside of one of the dippers would be fun.

Time was you forked over 10 DM, and took a lap of the long circuit in whatever you came in. For me, it was in 1980, and my rennwagen was a 1960's vintage 1100cc Opel station wagon. :D

I don't know if they still do it, but they were open most days that weren't part of a racing event, and manufacturers and race teams were mixed in with the other paying customers. So you had to keep an eye in the rear-view mirror!

Have Fun,

Man, that's a tough question. If we want to go FULL dream... an actual F1 race at Laguna Seca. ha.

I guess right now in my head the thing I would want to shoot most is the first formula 1 night race coming up here.

I'd like to shoot F1 at Monaco or one of the more picturesque circuits.
A WRC rally in sunny conditions

The Nurburgring is still open to any driver & car who pays the toll. Cars, bikes, vans and coaches do it on a daily basis.

Anything at Fuji Speedway in the old days when the 30 degree bank was still in service (such a shame they let it look like this: http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/e/e4/Fuji_Speedway_30-degree_high_bank.jpg)

Hardly, every time I go to an endurance racing event the commentators start wetting their knickers with excitement when the leaders get within 5 laps of each other. I like to be able to get the lead cars in the same shot without having to resort to time lapse photography and combining multiple exposures :p

i'd love to do something like that also, but in the Blue Angels or Thunderbirds. Something like Goose did in "Top Gun".. :)

Something like Goose did in "Top Gun".. :) The Blue Angles or Thunderbirds would work for me as well, but that not my ultimate. They are too controlled and predictable. Reno is racing and though those guys are very carefull, it's still a competition. ;)

I'm thinking my dream motorsports is what I shoot once a month right now, pro drivers, pro built trucks, and there's a lot more action than just driving in a circle or on flat ground.

I guess my dream is to make more money at it!

F1: One of the traditional circuits though (Monaco, Spa, Monza etc).

I'm drawn to the Isle of Man too: would be a great photo essay opp.

As I love Rally raids and extreme Enduro, I'd have to say the Dakar, especially now its moved to South America.
Though TSBO charges photogs £14k for the pleasure and they still have to find a lift!
Already covered the Erzberg Enduro/rodeo this year for DBR magazine (riding next year..gulp)
Red Bull Romainiacs..Last Man Standing.
Off to La Touquet beach race in February which will be fun
Car wise.. Le mans

I'd love to follow and shoot an entire World of Outlaws season, either Sprints or Late Models. The idea of shooting somewhere around 90 events during a season all over the country somehow appeals to me at this point in my life.

The new ISOC Snowcross series also appeals to me, as I just love snowcross and am one of the few crazies that will stand outside in nasty cold weather.

Oh for goodness sake, read the question! Neither Max Mosely nor Bernie Ecclestone are in any way involved in motorsport.

To be right behind two Top Fuel Dragsters or Funny Cars at LVMH in about 3 weeks when they launch off the line. Of course with camera in hand and at night would be best.

I've got tickets for the event. Anyone know anyone that can make that happen

WRC Monte Carlo - up on the Col de Turini would be fabulous!

Had the lucky chance to shoot Moto GP (Rossi's team VIP pass), World Motocross, WRC NZ & Japan, F1 Suzuka & Fuji Speedway. Nothing beats the WRC for me though. No limitations on shooting spots, you can be as creative as your imagination allows. Just a pity that all the previous times I was only using a FujiFinepix s9100 as I just got my Canon D50 and 70-200 lens on Tuesday....

Mine is kinda vanilla, but I'd love to shoot a NASCAR race at Bristol Motor Speedway. I'd have to be in the infield area, shooting from the top of a transporter. 43 cars on a half mile oval running at 120 mph, yeah, I'd enjoy that alot.

This year I've been rained on, snowed on and hailed on more times than the sun has shone.

Yeah, I remember feeling truly miserable on the Snetterton wind and cold one year. Can't remember the year but it was a British GT series meeting and the TVR Speed 12s were running so that should serve to date it.

Not sure really, I've done Le Mans, F1, WRC etc... more F1 would be good (only done British GPs), but I don't know if I'd want to do a full season. ALMS would be good too, or a season in Australia would be nice shooting V8 Supercars, and local stuff when that's not on.
