my name is dave and here in the next couple weeks im plannin on gettin a eos 300dr and have basic knowledge ofhow to make a camera work but was wonderin if antone knows of some free programs or tutorials on the web that i could learn to take better pics and use everything a camera does besides auto mode lol,will this camera do a good job at a nascar track if i put a zoom lens on it?thanks for input dave

Welcome Dave. Take a look at all of the links in a "sticky" (1st) thread on the Canon EOS Digital Forum. Those will keep you busy for quite some time. As for your second question, the digital rebel is more camera then most folks are able to take full advantage of, anywhere with any lense. Oh yes, and READ THE MANUAL.

I agree with Ilya wholeheartedly. But I must add that once you're done reading the manual, then read the manual. You might actually want to keep the manual in one hand while clicking those links with the other. And when you're at the track and you're waiting for the race to start, that's a good time to read the manual.

I've wasted more time and lost more shots because I only read the manual twice....

You can actually download the 300D manual at Canon's web site in PDF format. That is what I did with the 10D manual. Now if that camera would ever show up...
