This is the first time I really had to fight with lighting. All they had on their end were three strobes, and a red, blue, and yellow spot lights. That was it, all the other lights in the building were off. The venue they were playing in was really small as well, so i tried but background clutter is everwhere. I really need some C&C on these but moreso how to make them better so I will thank you in advance.

Looks like the lighting was pretty lame... You did very good with the given light.
#2 is my fav. I would just crop out the person on the very left....

Name of band and name of venue would be nice. What sort of place is it? What are your goals for your images ... other than getting a "nice image". I absolutely must share pictures from my first band shoots for comparison to what I am doing today! Mine were much worse than this. :-)

If you look at the bottom I linked to the bands websites, I sort of wanted to capture the mood of the music in the images, and I suppose I sort of succeeded in a few. I would love to see some of your first shots if it wouldn't be a bother =)

I will be putting together a thread on them soon! They are truly awful!

Looks like the lighting was pretty lame...
Looks like the lighting was pretty much absent...
Since there is no EXIF: What settings?
Looks like a longer shuttertime might have helped (specially on the last 3): If there is no ambient, you won't get blurr
Some nicely timed captures.

All images were shot at ISO 1600, between 1/30 and 1/60, and set at Tv. I'll see if I can pull the EXIF when I get home.
