Here are some photos taken of The Vasco Era + The Views at The Golden Vine in Bendigo. It's a small pub with a 6 inch stage and three lights meaning it is attrocious to shoot! Most shots were 1600 ISO with 24-70 f2.8 on a 1D Mark II N. Enjoy - C&C encouraged!

I really like what you've caught in #3 - the blur is just right to convey a sense of movement.

Very nice ... I really like that 1DMarkIIN! :-) At least they managed to move into what little light you had. I really like that first image ... sucks the eye right in.

1st and last are the best of the bunch, i reckon. richard, had a chance to shoot fellow countrymen The Drones, and the Devastations, playing together on halloween. great show, will post 'em up in a few days. the 1st pic reminded me of the light i had to deal w/ for that show...white shirted performers and spotlight + spot metering = very dark background around the performer. really makes it pop. nice one.

very good images. I like #1 & #4 best. these pics prove its fine to shoot ISO 1600.

Thanks everyone.

Dwight I won't put it all down to the 1D Mark IIN although I'm sure it helps and yes it is definitely on my shopping list! Using a different camera has forced me to think more about what I am doing when shooting rather than just blasting away. Also I have been trying a couple of things in PP and the results are showing there as well.

narlus - looking forward to seeing your Drones and Devestations shots - I have shot The Drones a couple of times - great band!

Hey Richard...
do i dare to differ from the others?
I actually like 1, 2, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8...
Why not three? well maybe it will grow on me...I'll check back later to see if I feel any different about it...
Each photo is a different composition of it's own...It's easily evident by the positioning of the guitar necks, first of all...the body positioning is also different in each one...which I like...the color, the grays, and the shades and shadows allow for all sorts of creative interpretation...Your framing is different and original in each one too...

So you like that new camera body of your's huh?

Very nice set. On the last B&W (lost count ;)) I'd prefer the focus to be on the face I think... I'll check back later.
