Unexpectedly in sRGB expecting Adobe RGB ?

I did some shooting at a local basketball game and returned home to find all my shots (JPEG) in sRGB color space. I always shoot Adobe RGB and I did not consciously switch the menu option.

I was shooting ISO 1600, no flash, 85/1.8 lens, mostly AI Servo, Av & Tv modes, and AWB with a 10D.

This happened once before when I handed the camera off to my wife to take some flash shots (550EX) and upon return, the color space had changed to sRGB. Then I blamed my wife. Now I'm making apologies :)

Any thoughts?
