Software CD from a620 lost during move :( Any options?

I had not bothered to load the software that came with my A620 because I use linux and had not tried making it work (using wine, a windows software system for linux). Now I'm living in a house with ready access to a windows machine, and would like to try getting it on my linux box as well. However, during the move the other day the CD was lost, along with some other important things - it won't be coming back. Anybody have any ideas? Can it be downloaded? Do I have to pay a bunch that could be better spent on an adapter and lenses, or a tripod for that matter (SO many things I want for my camera now and I have none!) The move ate up all my funds :(

I can download the pictures, of course, and have used gimp and the built in basic editing functions in picasa to edit, but I'd like to see what the software can do. The other options for panorama stitching, for example, appear to be rather a pain to get configured and perhaps to use as well.

Select Drivers/Software and you can download whatever you need. You can also download the manuals if you need them. Best of all they are FREE!!!:)

I'm afraid those are just updating versions. They each require an earlier version to be installed. I'm not sure I would even bother much with zoom browser, unless it has some great features (Picasa for linux has really impressed me for the most part, though there are things I would change if I could - and the windows version is more full featured anyhow). Photostitch, on the other hand, I'd really like to try. I've found freeware that can do it but it appears to be a moderate hassle to set up and I'd like to see how well the canon version does first :( If you've used it, how do you like it?

Dang!!! I'm sorry about that, I have downloaded the manuals and I never noticed the word updater in the software listings. I better go take some remedial reading or something. I get lazy and only see what I am expecting to see.

The photostitch software seemed to work pretty good but I only played with it for a short time to try it several months ago. I just never think about shooting for panoramas when I'm out fooling around. I don't think you will miss anything from the software unless you do alot of panoramas.

Since Canon sells the disk as a spare part I would think that copying the disk and giving it to someone else would be ... well ... piracy. Sorry, but the proper way to get the software is through Canon.

its not really piracy cuz he owned the CD and just needs a backup of it.... ;)... isnt it that if u have a copy its ok as long as ur not distributing it or selling it?

Read the software agreement. The only copy you may make is for personal back-up purposes.
