I have had the pleasure of working at the International Auto Show in Detroit this past week. I spend a good deal of time walking around the show floor and, of course, paying WAY too much attention to what type of camera people are using and what they are taking pictures of.

What is amazing that is seemingly 90% of the Digital SLR bodies are D-rebels. I probably saw about 45 Rebels today. Every one of them had the Kit 18-55 lens on it, which I might add should be an incredible lense to have in a crowded environment with cars as the subject matter.

The professional photographer in charge of documenting the Auto Show had a 10d, bg-ed, 550ex, 17-35L set-up. Nice guy, he wouldn't let me touch his lense though.

My point is that the Rebel Kit users are using such an awesome set-up with a formidable camera and we can be sure that the Auto Show has never come home to so many PC's in such splendor. Canon has completely dominated here and made such a great camera. Can't wait to see what is next.

I'd rather have the 10d set-up but for $900 a knowledgable amateur could take a comparable picture with exactly the right equipment.
