shot is 1 1/30th with multiple flashes I think it's pretty cool how they can fly perfectly still with this flurry of motion going on in the flight department.

great capture, the slight blur to the wings give the impression of the speed that these wings move at. well done.

Thanks, using the ef-s 60 macro for this one, The darkness was intentional so the wings would stand out against the background but this picture didn't work quiet how I had imagined, I guestimate that the birds wings were flapping atleast 180hz to hover there, that's what the flash was set to and her wings were at the middle shoulder position nearly every time the flash was strobed, looks like only 2 wing beats were out of sync with the flash bursts... crazy little birds!

Nice shot! I really like how the motion is displayed with the slight blurring of the wings. The colors work here and the head is in focus. Nice work on this one! :)

Nice suspension of the hummer as it hovers. Good focus on the bird, well done.

The bird stands out nicely witth that dark background, nice and sharp eyes.
Wish we had similar birds here.

Thanks for all your comments, I also appreciate your insite into my efforts. I'm still thinking how improbable this shot was at the time when all the other birds were flying away from the flash as soon as it started flickering.
