Well I'm new to photography in general, I just got my Rebel about a week and a half ago and my prior experience is really limited to snapshots with a G6 about a year or two ago. I took a few quick shots in my apartment the other day.

1 sec exposure from a tripod using a timer, as soon as the shutter clicked I broke from the far end of the table.

That's not a trick...looks like a standard full rack break.

I like the effect. Perhaps just a tad brighter and clone out the rails in the upper left and right?

Yeah its not a "trick" shot, just a standard break. I think he was asking how I got the shot I'm guessing.

The more I look at the picture the more I agree that it should be a tad bit brighter. The felt is actually about the color that it is in the picture however.
