hey guys i'm going to do some rolling shots tonight. i was wondering if i could get some points from you guys. i'm planning to go around 20-40mph while being in the trunk of a scion tC at low speeds and hang out of the window at higher speeds. anyways i heard you should keep this in Tv mode and set the shutter speed to 1/speed of the car.

i just wanted to get something clarified. would i be shooting this in AI Servo? Ai Focus? or One Shot?

also what ISO should i be using? it will be pretty much complete darkness with just street lights around. should i also be using flash?

oh one quick question about ISO. I know that ISO captures the light based on sensitivity. but i wanted to know what difference i will see in the pictures with a low and a high ISO besides more noise. Thanks

Ai servo is probably best, so you don't end up with any OOF images. ISO, depends on what iso you need to achieve the right shutter speed really. Flash tends to freeze things, but its worth experimenting with long shutter speeds and flash.

i've never heard 1/speed of car. Usually its keep the shutter speed above the distance of lens. For example if shooting from car and your using a 50mm lens, try not to go below 1/50th, even at that you'll get blue.

What are you actually shooting out of the car? Scenery? Other cars? You may encounter some difficulty at slower shutter speeds due to the vibration and suspension movement of the car... even on flat roads you aren't going to find that a car is as steady as you standing on ground to shoot from.

Probably best to aim for about 1/80th or 1/100th depending on which lens you are using.

I'm sure I'm late, but the longer the focal lenth, the more blurr you'll have. I suggest shooting in the medium tele range at 1/60-1/250 with the car moving around 40mph. Then, do different settings from there...
