What kind of camera do I purchase for my daughter this Christmas?
Well this New Years Day my daughter will be three years old.
I am aware of one durable kids cameras for kids 3 years and up.
Take a look at http://www.fisher-price.com and search for "camera" and you will see the KidTough Digital Camera. This is available at Toys R Us for $50.
-If you are aware of other kid cameras please share what you know.
-Please share any thoughts or comments.
FYI, her second camera will likely be a Canon : )

about 10 years ago (estimate) I bought the film version of this camera for my son. It was a very durable camera, sure wish is was digital back then It sure would have saved me a lot of money having the film developed. I do not think you will regret buying this camera

My friend who is a computer teacher at the elementary school has a 3 year old and she is getting her the Fisher Price camera. She says the durability is worth so much more than getting her something for older kids and it's not very expensive. That's the best part. I just bought my 9 and 7 year old sons the Canon A530, which only costs $149 now and is a tough little camera. The screen is 1.8, but who cares? The pictures are amazing and the zoom is more than adequate. I would have gotten them the Fisher Price one if it was out 3 years ago. :)

Whats more durable than a 1D M1 and a good weather sealed L lense (maybe 17-40)?

This is available at Toys R Us for $50.
If it had a Canon label on the front you could add $1000!

From what I can see all of our Fisher Price toys appear to be good quality and durable.
You know she really wants a 1DSMKII!!!
She wants to get a 1D for Dad : )

She may end up with my old cameras when she gets older.

1D could be more durable but it would likely leave more dent's and dings around the house.
If it had a Canon label on the front you could add $1000!

TeeJay and SuzyView, Now you have me thinking on using a sharpie to convert the fisher price camera to a 1D and a L Lens

My girl is not even two yet, but one of her first words was "Camera". Everytime we go somewhere she wants to bring her "Camera" with her. (It is a little plastic toy she can look through). She's still a little young for the Fisher Price, but you can bet it won't be long before I get it for her!

I've bought this camera for my daughter (almost 4) for xmas.. I got it at Target on sale for $54.. but I think it's the older stock cause it was only in red and gray .. not the blue or pink ones you see in the ads. She walkes around the house with the free one from the fruit loop s ceral box!
