Photo Techniques?

I just purchased a Canon Powershot S400 over the weekend which I've been wanting for a while now. I'm very interested in photography to use with my graphic design work, but I don't know much about the specifics of photography.

I was wondering if anyone knew of anywhere online where I could find tips on lighting, and photo angles, etc to produce the best shots possible???

any help or tips would be greatly appreciated!!
