Just wonering if someone will sell me a 10D for $2500 before Canon announces the replacement cameras. I won't know how to feel unless I pay way too much for a camera and then it get replaced a month later!!

Just funnin' around, spinnin' the rumor mill...

Since I'm really iin a good mood today and feel like helping you out, I'll do you one better. I'll sell you one for $4,000.00. If $2,500.00 would make you feel better, then $4,000.00 should make you feel real good.

 I actually saw a 10D in one of the local Best Buy stores, and I was surprised. This store is not in the area that I would think of as prime 10D territory, but maybe that's why they have it in stock. If you're determined, I'll run right over there and see if I can pick it up. However, I'll have to charge a slight handling fee (let's see, if I sell it for $3200 I can have a 10D for myself, tax included).
Let me know

a 10d is at most 1500, so I think you mean something else

Well, I don't have a 10D to sell you, but I'll make you a great deal on a DRebel. Only $2,000 and I'll throw in the kit lense! :D

Interestingly enough, a few days ago, I also noticed that Best Buy was carrying the 10D in its display case. Also oddly enough, the DRebel, which used to be in there, was no longer being displayed. I wonder if this puts to bed the rumors of the 10D being discontinued? Perhaps the DRebel is the one Canon will discontinue!

It is more likely that they were sold out of Drebels, and the warehouse pushed out the 10Ds to get them sold. Which does not, in my mind indicate that the 10D is on the way out, but rather that 10D sales may take a temporary hit when the 1D replacement becomes available.

B&H had a few 10D's in last Thursday - I got one. 8) They're on backorder again since Sunday. KEH.com had some in stock Saturday - they're out of stock again as of Sunday. They're selling like hotcakes.

I walked through a Wolf camera shop today while I was at the mall. Not much there in Canon, except for the non-SLR digicams. They had the Olympus E-?? and a Nikon digital, but no Canon Digital SLR. They did have regular Rebels in their various flavors. Of course, they had an entire display cabinet filled with various Quantaray lenses.

Stores like Best Buys and Circuit City sold a boatload of DigiRebs over the holidays. Best deal in digital around IMHO.

Funny part about Best Buy is you can no longer purchase the 10D on the site... it says to buy it at your local store and wont let you add it to your cart.

I bought my 10D at a Best Buy in Houston. I was told they are the only Best Buy in Houston that carries them. It's a store by store basis, apparently.

What I found interesting is they sell the 28-135 lens for something like $675 when it can be had for something like $425 from J & R (exact lens- I looked several times). They wouldn't price match which didn't matter because I already had the order in to J&R.

BTW. I bought the extended warranty (which I almost never do). That was the main reason I bought it at Best Buy. Wolf camera, as well as pro camera shops were all out of the camera at the time.
