I just realized that the resolution settings on my 400D currently does not include the RAW+L setting. All I can see is the S, M, L (normal & fine), the option for RAW+L is not there. I pretty much hit every option in the Menu folder but no luck.

I read the manual and could not find any setting instructions to activate RAW+L.

This is all I see

How do I set the camera for RAW?

TIA,
Don

the camera cant be in any of the automatic modes like the green square mode. move it to P, AV, TV or M and then you can choose RAW

WOW! That was quick. I love this forum.

Thanks a bunch. I wish what you just said was a line in the instruction manual.

There surely is a "Function Availability Table" somewhere in your manual. You just need to find it.

Yeah...

read the manual! Also, download the PDF version of the manual and use "control F," to find immediately whatever you want to find. Easy!

I went back and read this part. Somehow, Brodog was able to explain my dilema in plain english vs the FAQ in the manual.

What do you guys think of those DVD instructional videos? Mind you I am a beginner in the SLR & photography world. Thanks.

There's also the "Function availability" table on p. 158-159.

…but if you want to learn and remember forever, read the manual.
