Great shot BE. Wonder how bugs like this generally overwinter- as adults or pupae?

Wish I could find more colored beetles, the black ones are hard to make interesting. Nice shot, good lighting and DOF.

I know what you mean, there are tons of black beetles, not nearly enough colored ones. Thats why I like these guys so much, I'm thinking of raising some at home. Thanks for the kind words.:D

Hiya BE,
Great shot, love the colouring, we get lots of different coloured Beetle here in the SW. UK. RM needs to come down here for a holiday in the summer to get away from those boring black ones;-)
Cheers for now

Excellent shot with very good details as always. I'm wondering how you managed to take such a sharp shot from this nice angle as I expect this beetle is fast moving.

Thanks all for the kind words on this one. as to how I got this shot, yes, they are fast moving and skittish, I stalked him for a 1/2 hour, once he became comfortable with my presence, he returned to his hunt. stopping and posing several times.:D :D :D
