This was an interesting picture. It was freezing and the sun was setting.....I was taking pictures of this statue and I was about to leave, but then I turned around and saw from the horizon the orange sun hitting these buildings. I got excited and snapped away.........

I used the feet of the statue as a leading line to lead your eyes to the focal point (something I learned from a magazine) :-)

to me the 2nd picture is better because the trees lead to where you wont the viewer to look, and that is the buildings in the far backgroud.

that is what I see and I am not to sure if I have that minds eye working yet :)
