Only rampant speculation. The prevailing theme seems to be a replacement for the 1D, but nobody knows for certain----yet.

Replacement going to be showed @ the PMA next month in Vegas, I spoke with a Canon Rep @ the CES show. If you can't make it there then It will be on display again in late Feb. @ the WPPI show. (wedding photoghraphy)
Again no specs or detail but supposed to compete with the N***n D2H. So far from what I hear thats one fast A** Camera.
Will just have to wait & See
