Hi everyone,

This is the first picture taken with my new 100mm macro lens.

Yes, its dead (death by natural causes)

Good shots- dead bugs are good for practicing on but get out there and shoot some live ones :)

Thanks for your comments.

I've had the fly quite a long time knowing that one day I would make the decision to buy a macro lens.
It’s served its purpose.
Next time my subject will be alive.

Cheers

When you say natural causes.... do you mean, cooked in the window or fly swatter?

I love the shots and I don't mean that in a "I'm a weirdo who likes dead flies" kinda way.

Awesome shots !!

Hi T0DD,

I think my cat was responsible for its death!
It was on the window sill one morning.

I know I said that my next pictures were going to be of something alive, well, a friend has just given me 2 stiff butterflies to take pictures of (I need the practice).
If they're any good I'll post them.
:)

I got a stiff in my fridge! Its a tropical butterfly I picked off the ground - not allowed but as the Butterfly House is closing I didn't see the harm.

Not that close using the lens alone as it's the Extension Tubes that make the difference.
