Hi,

Newbie question....I have just got a EOS 30D and an 430 EZ Flash. Can anyone confirm if the 430 EZ and the EOS 30D are compatible?

Bu Not compatible, does that mean "Will not work at all", "Will work but without the full features" or "Will blow your camera up"?

(1) 430EZ probably will not blow up your camera.
(2) 430EZ will not operate in E-TTL mode, which is the primary flash mode for your camera.
(3) If you control it correctly, you should be able to operate the 430EZ in manual mode, but that is not very automatic at all.
(4) You really want some Canon xxx-EX flash to be fully compatible.
