my 30d trial period just expired.
does anyone know how to reinstall it?
fyi I did uninstall and reinstall but there is obviously a system file that keeps track of the status and likely needs to be removed.
thks for hints. :-)

I'm sure the fine folks (who have kids and mortgages to pay...) at Abode will be more than willing to help you defeat their trial period system. Why don't you just give them a call (have your credit card ready to buy it since you like the software enough to continue using it.) :)

Try GIMP for a freeware graphic editor.

If you want to use it, pay for it.

guys I understand your reaction but....
I am only using photoshop a few hours a week and for limited use, and don't see the rationale for paying more than 1400 USD for this. In my view this is largely exaggerate. And many people I know think the same way.
Adobe better have professional and limited use licencing policy.
ps. Forgot to mention I am working for a computer company.

As Roger said, pay for it.

I only use my music CDs for maybe a few hours a months, maybe I shouldn't bother paying for them ? Maybe I should just walk out of the shop without paying for them ?

Doesn't matter if you are using it for one minute a year or 8 hours a day, you need to pay for the licence. Using it without paying for it is theft and software theft sucks.

You work for a computer company ? Why don't you buy a copy through your work ?

Cheers

Have the company pay for it. Just beware starting with 7.0 if you do not have the original lic. you can't update it with any patches or upgrades that come out on the market.

They do have an Elements package, that is more hobbiest level. Perhaps you could afford that? If not even that, try the free GIMP program. It has levels, curves, and other essentials (even has a free online tutorial) and should be powerful enough for your needs and easy enough on your pocket book. See also the thread http://photography-on-the.net/forum/showthread.php?t=23684 for another option.

You work for a computer company? Do you give away powerful computers if the buyer only wants to write emails and play games a few hours a week?

I can't believe that you even had the nerve to ask that here.

I'm with everyone else here, if you want to use it, pay for it. There are lots of other alternatives out there to Photoshop that are much more cost efficient for the casual user.

Get another computer and install it on that and next month on another one and......cheaper and easier in the long run to do the decent thing and buy a copy
