I was sorting some files tonight and stumbled upon this shot that I somehow missed for the past 5 months. I liked it in color but liked it even more in B&W. Haley is 13 1/2 months in this shot. She was sitting in her pool at my in-laws house. C&C welcome as always.

Thank you very much. In this shot I was fortunate to have perfect focus on the eyes with just enough DOF to render the background slightly OOF. I followed schmoelzel's RAW tutorial found here (http://photography-on-the.net/forum/showthread.php?t=95468). For this shot I didn't do any of the saturation adjustments, or any shadow/highlight adjustments and converted to B&W through the Channel Mixer. It uses one pass of Fred Miranda's Intellisharpen and one pass of USM. With the right photo to start with the eyes just sparkle.

This is very nice. I saw lots of potential and am posting my version. I made her smaller since kids need "room to grow" in a portrait. I also worked on her eyes. The multiple catch lights were distracting.

Thanks Craig. I worked a similar edit but didn't like how her eyes turned out as they were too dark. She has a very unique eye color that can be seen here (http://www.pbase.com/madawson/image/69498794) that is very hard to show in photos without overexposing other parts of her face. In your edit here eyes seem dark which is the same thing I was achieving and they have lost that sparkle. I wanted to keep them a little lighter.
