Earlier this year I won a free photo shoot at a studio, I sent my wife as I hate pics of myself. The result was a nice potrait which we got a free framed picture of and the option to buy further Pics, but at £100+ per print we stuck with the free one.

Since then several members of my family have said they would like copies of the picture, but instead of forking out all that money my wife had me have a go. I have only had a go once or twice with a self potrait in the past and never tried to take someone elses pic, but my wife was very pleased with the result and has had me print several copies which I am sure will become this years xmas presents.

I have tried to get as close as possible to the same effect that they achieved at the studio, I think I got close but there is still a lot of room for improvement.

PS It looks a lotter better printed than on my Un-calibrated monitor

C&C always welcome.

What size prints were they and how much is that amount in US money ? I always draw a blank when I see the symbol for your money.

It was 8 x 10" prints and £100.00 equates to $190.42 (used online currency convertor  )

I should have added It also include the frame....

D. Craig, Google "£100 = ? US $" if you don't want to figure out typing the Symbol, copy and paste. It makes for about $190 US.

I really like the photo, did you have a play with saturation? Is that her real eye color? I love to do layer masks on eyes to change the colors, but can't tell here. Though I would darken her pupil here, it looks a little hazy.

Whoa !!! That is a really upscale studio. I get around $40.00 US for an 8x10 in my studio. Either they are really expensive or I need to up my prices.

Her eyes are green but came out dark in the photo so I did try a layer mask, I originally gave her red eyes but she wasnt to amused by that idea

I admit I've played that bit too, it's always good for a laugh.

Nice framing, but focus should be on eye, not on hair!
