It's not going to be a new 10D from what a Canon Rep told me @ the CES. But mostly something to compete with the D2H

The following was taken from a translated Brazillian Website,

http://translate.google.com/translate?hl=en&sl=pt&u=http://www.ricciardi.eng.br/Artigos/PMA2004.htm&prev=/search%3Fq%3Dpma%2B2004%2Bcanon%26hl%3Den%26lr%3D% 26ie%3DUTF-8%26oe%3DUTF-8

Google search on PMA 2004 Canon Google translated the page and revealed the following Canon insight on PMA 2004 anouncements.

The Canon must launch a substitute for the EOS 1D. The EOS 1D is the digital SLR of the Canon oldest in production. The arrival of Nikon D2H force the Canon to launch a new model. Fofocas had been more intense today later that the B&H, traditional store of New Iorque, 1D of its list of products took off the EOS, increasing the speculations that the model left line. The new body would be shown to the public in the fair and would be in the store in March. The 8 the 8 specifications would be megapixels fps, with a buffer for 40 photos and factor of conversion of 1,3x for the focal distances. The suggested price must be around USS4.000,00 and the price in the store around USS3.500,00.

Together with new 1D the Canon would launch two new objective. One of them would enter in the place of the EF 35-350mm f/3.5-5.6L and would count on IS.

Also 10D. is speculated on very on the substitution of Canon EOS Even so either a relatively new model, 10D already is in production has one year almost. The Canon showed, when retiring the EOS D60 with only 7 months of life, that it intends to work with short cycles for the launching of new products. Therefore, if a substitute of 10D will be launched, not if she can say that it is a surprise. New 10D would have 8 megapixels and the too much specifications would be similar to the current model, also the factor of cut of 1,6x. I only wait that this increase of pixels, if to occur, does not come folloied of an increase in the noise level.

New members please note that the above post is NOT official. Anything you read prior to Canon's announcement is bogus information and only speculation. Some are saying that Canon may announce as early was next week, but until it comes from Canon, believe nothing.
