Wrong Size of Thumbnails / micor thumbs

I appear to be displaying all my thumbnails and microthums with the wrong dimensions. I have gone through the process of getting image sizes in the setup prcess and the situation is not resolved.
Has anyone else found this - and peraps is there an option I have missed somewhere.

EDIT Ok - I have confirmed to specifically about dispalying the correct aspect ratio in lsts etc. I see others also have difficulties here - any advice gratefully recieved.

Got it!!

One needs to check that the settings in SETUP_settings.php thumb max size limiters are not less than the dimensions you have in the resize methods for Thumbs and Thumbnails. If you do then the image is rescaled to comply with the max settings, otherwise the image is displayed in the correct proportions.

Once you realise this you wonder why you didn't get it begin with - but there you are....
