This is a shot from my new Digital Rebel. I live near the ocean and think is a one of the best photos I have taken. This was taken on my second trip out with this new camera (first trip being a 5yrs old birthday). I hope this mean many more days of cool photos.

its a great shot. For me, its just missing a little "oomph". The colors doesn't really excite........
Have you tried it in b&w?? Maybe that will give it more contrast....

Its a very fine shot but does lack a point of focus. I would try cropping it a little tighter maybe

I agree with both.
I would crop it a little bit (especially on the left) and colors are not that exciting. It may actually depend on the light at the time of shooting: it occurs quite often to me and other than manipulating strongly the image in a way different from the real world in that moment I think there's no solution....
Anyway good job: keep shootin :)

I think a tighter crop (eliminating some of the left side and bottom right or top right) would make a better composition. I also think a polarizing filter would have been very helpful here.

If you alter the levels to deepen the shadows and alter the RGB Curve to bring out a little more colour it should help put back a little of the "oomph".
Also, try cropping it from the left as was also suggested above.

I like the cropping in this shot but it lacks some punch in the colors. Even if the sky was a little darker it would add something to it for me.
