View Full Version : Another A80 question~ any way to stop delay?

Hi again! I'm running into a big problem with the shutter delay (hope that's what it's called) when I'm trying to take a picture of my toddler. By the time the focus locks and it takes the picture she's already gone from smiling to doing something else, so I'm losing the shots. As you can imagine toddlers move fast and when they smile it doesn't usually last long~ they sure won't pose, lol, so I need to be able to snap the picture when it happens, not wait a few seconds until the camera is ready.

Is there any way around this? I tried changing to the continuous shooting feature but those all came out blurry.

My last camera was a Kodak DX4900 and the delay was so much shorter that I always got the shot I was looking for. Unfortunately that camera had a slew of its own problems.

Thanks!

The only solution is to press the shutter halfway and let the camera focus, and then wait untill the right moment to take the picture.

Like this http://alnath.fotopic.net/photo.php?id=2438603 just a case of prefocusing and waiting, just as PeterS45 said.

To achive the fastest possible responstime, set manual focus, no red eye reduction and turn of focus light.

(works fine with A80)
