1gb is storage size, speed is a different rating. Check specs they might say 16x, 40x,
60x, etc ----->133x. Unless you plan on setting camera for continuous shooting and allow camera to take more than 7 or 8 shots without stopping speed is not an issue
may also impact movie setting - I'm not sure about this.

Sometimes power saver setting, how long image stays in view finder, can mess you up if you want to take several shots one after the other - each taken separately. This feature seems to be disabled when set for continuous shooting (all based on my S2 experience0

My A620 can get the full 9 min. (1 GB) video on standard SanDisk; speed's less critical on these little guys than we might think.

i just have a 1 gig on my s3, not sure of the speed on the card, but i've never filled it up in one photo session, nor has it bogged down on me

There is a noticeable difference in card speed when you are shooting in continuous or high speed continuous mode. Using a regular Kingston card i was only able to shoot about 7 pictures before I got buffering messages and the shooting speed decreased dramatically. Using a SanDisk ultra II card I can shoot 150+ pictures on Large/Fine without getting a buffer message. There is a difference but if you do not plan on shooting continuously you should not have any problems with just taking pictures.

I have the Transcend 2GB 150X card in my S2 and couldn't be happier with it. The pricing and shipping costs from NewEgg are terrific,

I have a PNY 1GB card for my A510 and it's quite nice. At least with my cam the only thing speed has any effect on is the length of movies I can take in one shot.
