I have seen your photos and usualy am not very fond of them.
This is impressive however, remarkable.
I just wish he wasn't so obscured and that shadow wasnt do dark.
But all in all this is an impressive shot, B/W works great, the composition is brutal and all i can say is congratulations.

The image is nice, but the composition is not.
An image like this looks a lot better when you take the man out of the center.
Something like this (hope you don't mind :) ):

I beg to differ. The composition mvrekum came up with makes for a much nicer photo but one that speaks diferently.
I for one apreciate much more the roughness of the original composition and the message it passes on. Just opinions i guess but thats mine.

Thanx for your inputs.
My (absolutely personal) opinion is that, at least in this case, composition depends on what the picture tries to express. My feeling when I looked at the scene on the beach was something like "loneliness in a somewhat wild environment". This is the reason why there is some empty space around the guy in all directions. This is what I felt and what I tried to express. Again, just a feeling.

Warman: I'm sorry you don't like my other pictures. I just started and I'm trying to do my best.

I don't mind at all. Discussion helps growing... :D

You captured that feeling perfectly with the original photo you posted. Looks like a storm is brewing too!

What I wanted to say is "move the man out of the center". You than will still have the same mood with a better composition. I only cropped the image as an example, not to change the mood. Just imagine the original image with the man moved to the left somewhere on the first 'third' line.
It is simply called "the rule of thirds".

I'm guessing he's taking a photograph...........did I get it??

VG mood in this photograph.......Bravo for showcasing it in B&W.......

IMHO, a few birds on the horizon would've given this photo more "ooomph"..........

AGain, just lacking that extra "ooooomph"

Both images look great.

Its all about the rules of thirds, but rules are meant to be broken.

I love B&W. Great in caputing the moment. MOOD.

cheers!!!
