thats quite expensive, you could make one for next to nothing , wouldnt be as fancy but still, i guess the camo ones would be useful in certain situations.

ive held one wrapped in it. they are well formed to the lens and good quality material. easy to take off if needbe aswell.

up until now you had to buy them from lenscoat's site or other lesser known photo sites. just wanted to point out they finally have them at B&H.

My only beef with Lens Coats' is when you put them in some lens cases, the lens hood portion rolls up because the tolerances aren't accounted for.

Ooh, I like this one:

Lens not white enough? Add more white!! :D (rings are optional, paint 'em yerself)

Actually I think it would be useful for shooting in winter conditions when everything is whited out and you don't want to be spotted by the wildlife, but then again..... it just struck me as funny, not enough white on a white lens... :D

the idea in that case is so the lens cant get scratched. mainly due to request for lenscoats by PJs and reporters who didnt want to walk around with camo lenses. or people who dont want to loose white but protect the lens :D

white would be good in wintery snow conditions trying to hide.

all those different colors and camo patterns are pretty moot when you consider the camera is still most likely black.

How come they don't offer the white Lens Coats for the Sigmas?

hows that matter, with the exception of snow black would blend pretty well with the environment, a more than foot long white lens in the woods however.

With pre-painted red ring? WOW, dude, this could be our big break - we could be RICH! Think of all the Sigma 70-200 owners who like to imagine they have L's!

Good to see that, but strange that they are not now, nor does it seem they will be regularly stocked items.

B&H's basement is that of an old swimming pool, quite deep too. I'd think they would have enough room for a few lens coats.

well i mean i seriously think they just added it like a couple of days ago and probably dont have the stock in yet. i was just looking at my dream lens (500 F4) again and saw it listed under accessories.... i do this basically daily sooooo.... yea id expect them to be in stock within a week. this is great, now i can order all my accessories at once (for the 300 2.8.... no way i can afford the 500 right now haha).

Hmm.... I kinda like the Realtree Hardwoods Snow.

I bet anyone would like these after they get a chip in their L paint.

I don't see why they don't make covers for the zoom and focus. Or even a panel cover you lift up for the buttons....

My question is will the Realtree Hardwoods Snow pattern come off in 5 months of heavy use?

If they offered coats for all the lenses I'm planning on getting I'de be interested, but seems to be only pricey telephotos.

the smallest lens they make it for is the 70-200 2.8.

So these offer good protection for shooting in the rain?

well... the pieces themselves are waterproof, so they arnt going to make it any WORSE, but they arnt in any way attempting to seal the lens, they are simply to prevent scratches and help large white lenses blend in in nature situations. for rain you need to look at a kata rain cover.

Yeah, that's what I thought, cause they don't cover the entire lens it seems and the description on it was a little iffy for rain.

well, most of the lenses they are designed for are weather sealed already, so for most people thats not the problem.

Sorry I missed this thread a while ago . B&H pretty much stocks all LensCoats and LegCoats. The smallest lens thus far is the 28-300 on the Canon side and we just added the 200 1.8.
