Had occasion to hookup my slide/neg scanner for upcoming 85th birthday celebration for Sis. Haven't used the scanner for 3 or 4 years.

I had to replace my computer a couple months back and only loaded my currently needed software. Couldn't locate the original CD for scanner software (it's in a landfill somewhere).

The unit is a Minolta Scan Plus III. If you have followed the Minolta/Konica/Sony epic over the last couple years, you can understand my aprehension about getting new driver info from internet sources. Turned out there is a very well laid out trail to a download site. Started with a basic 'google' search and went from there.
I guess my lessons learned are to never ever throw away old application info. And if possible, backup what you have to another source.
Sounds like a great opportunity for an "old Software" resource company.

There are several archive driver sites such as the driver museum (http://www.drivermuseum.com/) or the driver guide. (http://www.driverguide.com/)But the problem is that many of these were for the OS of the day Win-98 or maybe even Win-95 and may or may not work on XP. I have found that most sites keep some archives of their older drivers but of course, the older you get, the more chancy what you download will work.

Thanks guys, I was really trying to point out the dangers of not updating drivers and backing up those you have.

The drivers for the Minolta 'DiMAGE Scan Dual III' are certainly available from the Konica/Minolta web site, I had to download them last week because I 'mislaid' the disc (I've found it now)
I take it you got the drivers OK in the end?
