Keep up the good shots GMACK. What I see in your shots is that your getting what others are not. So your shots are the ones that people are drawn too. Its the shots that have a different perspective that catches the eye. Then they will want to see more.
Keep an eye open for a good deal on the XT's. You should find them getting cheaper for the used ones now. Hope that you can get the camera, I think we will see more of you.
I look at your shots and they take me to other places, sometimes back in time.

Gmack,
Don't worry about the gear. The gear does not make the photographer. And worry less about the people that worry about the gear.
The shot is pleasing to the eye. Although a tad confusing (orientation wise) with the the 1899 beam coming across the frame and "attaching" itself to the building. I would suggest posting your shots in the C&C section where people will be more apt to give you an honest (and productive) critique.

Weak...
Gmack, I think it's technically very well done. The lines work very well together. Personally I'd like to see it in B&W!

I have the same camera. Awsome pic for a P & S. Dont use it that much anymore. I do have the XT but if it was not a gift I would not have one either.

Keep posting! Gear is irrelevant....to a point. Can you adjust aperature manually with your camera?

I do not believe so.
it is a Point and Shoot but I will double check when I get home.
