Some of these need a bit of work in photoshop, but you should always number your shots (explanation afterwords) so that we can refer to em easier.

4 and 8 would look great in a contrasty b&w.

P.S. Maybe you have some nice new verizon fones to trade for the pod lol jk jk nice photos man

I grew up in New Bedford and I went to Lincoln Park when I really young in the early 80's, right before it closed down, I only have very vague memories of what it was like. But it's about time they did something with that land, it's such a wasteland.

Thank You Mark.
Yeah I was sort of taking the pics quickly so perhaps if I had taken my time the pics woulda come out better.
This was my first UE (urban exploration) Trip and as I do more hopefully I will be able to improve.
Thanks for the tips.
If I have time I will convert them and re-host.
Thanks.

Wow, I had no idea it had been just abandoned.
Great pics!

FYI, "The Comet" was the first Roller Coaster I ever road (and still the scariest, as it was falling apart back then too! )
I have very fond memories of Lincoln park, we used to go into the "haunted house" and "Pirate Den" and once inside the tunnels, jump out of the cars and wonder through the "backstage" parts of the ride.. ( I guess that makes us "Ruffians" :) ) and oh who could not love the Bumper Cars :)

**I was on my way to a football game (i'm a cheerleader) and I had just seen this thread a day or two earlier and then we drove thru ND and I was like "oh wait a sec. " haha too bad I wasn't on a bus with everyone, looks like a very cool photo opportunity

Thanks Guys . . .
Yeah it is freaky to think that back in the day there were kids running around parents ripping their hair out of their heads. Kids playing, laughing, crying, Let me off this coaster! ! ! LOL
Too bad vandals had to burn 85 percent of the thing to the ground.
And now it will be torn down for Condo's in the spring.
Sad...
I am just happy I was able to go and take photos of it before it was torn down : ^ )

I hate Lincoln Park! No but seriously, i have bad memories there. I dislocated my shoulder and had a retard 'place' it ala Leathal Weapon style. Keep in mind i was like 7.

Interesting place to check out now though.

I don't know. I think I'm feeling the color over the B&W. It's likely due to the peeling paint and sense of wood crumbling and grey.

Great shots. Love the BW.

I was driving through Dartmouth myself this weekend and came across Comet for the first time. I took a roll of BW there, developing them tomorrow!. I had no idea about it I was shocked to see it. Then I researched and came about this site. Very informative history site too.

Very nice shots, but I am not sure that B&W really adds anything to the images. Don't "second" guess yourself and defer to others' judgement. The appeal of this place is obvious and doesn't need to be defended. B&W is far more effective when you are shooting up close and personal to show the grit and decay. Landscape shots are another matter entirely (unless you are Ansel Adams, of course).

Great subject! Well done. I put one of the immages in photoshop and inversed it as to project the negetive. giving it a black sky and turned it B&W very cool.

Kind of reminds me of some of the amusement park photos from Pripyat. Most have been interesting to poke around. I'm surprised they haven't torn down the roller coaster to avoid drunk teenagers falling off it.

Wow, this is a great thread. Wonderful shots, GMACK24. I had been wondering if this place were still standing. I'd love to get over there and do some shooting. I was last there in 1987 shortly before they closed up.

Just an FYI, we've put up a website specifically dedicated to Lincoln Park. There quite a few 'new' shots of how the park looks as of early this year. History and other tales of the good ole days. Check it out at http://www.lpcomet.com

They look good. But i think as an fake-hdr it would look better. Try it, download photomatix and some presets and look through it

I think it's a pitty to see the park been abondoned
