I'm going to give MPIX a try with an order of about 250 4X6 prints. I've read the FAQ's on their site regarding sRGB and DPI at 250 so I'm fairly clear on that. Thing I'm wondering about is with this large of an order and the file size of the images (4-6 MB's), should I consider resizing to get a smaller size so the upload time is shorter. I do have a high speed internet connection, but from what I can estimate the upload time for images at those sizes could be up to a couple hours.

Mark,
Question what file format are you using? 4-6MB seems rather large for 1500x1000 images saved as JPEG 10-11?
My self I've always gotten excellent results from Mpix sending them JPEG-11 for everything from 4-6 to 16x20 prints.

The average file size is around 4MB with a few hitting close to 6MB. These were tweaked a bit with DPP and saved as JPEG-9 at 3504x2336. When I had been taking a CD of images to a local lab this size I wasn't too concerned about size. I'm trying to resize these now to maintain good image quality at 4x6 and have a relatively quick upload. It sounds like the 1500x1000 sizing is what you're using at JPEG-10/11. I just tried saving one of my files that was about 6MB at the settings you mentioned and got it down to about 1.6MB. The 4MB files should be even smaller. I'll probably make a few test prints off my printer to see how they look.
I've got some reading to do on DPI and image sizing:confused:
Thanks........

Start the upload just before you go to bed and they will be done by morning.

Their process will include downsizing and resampling your full res file, so if upload times are really slow it would make sense to do this yourself.
